About Us

Padiham and District Photographic Society is a small and friendly club, and we pride ourselves in our ability to develop both the camera and presentational skills of new, and not so new, members. As a small club, we punch above our weight and our members regularly complete successfully against other clubs and in national and international exhibitions.

Our members have a diverse range of skills and interests with most genres of photography represented within the club. Currently we are particularly strong on wildlife, landscape, macro, still life, creative, portraits and events photography. We are strong in both colour and monochrome work and in both print and digital presentation. Our members are always willing to share their experience and expertise with other members.

If you need help in processing your work, our members have expertise in a wide range of software tools, and especially Photoshop, Lightroom, Elements, Camera Raw, On 1, Luminar, Topaz and Aurora products. Regular tutorial sessions are arranged allowing our members to get the most from the images they take.We hold regular meetings at our club room, and on Zoom, with some field trips also. We hold internal competitions, participate in external competitions, host external speakers, organise training sessions and enjoy a number of field excursions. We organise the viewing of external competitions in association with the L&CPU, ICPA or PGAB organisations.

Our meetings are usually on Wednesday nights at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start. We generally finish by 9.30-10pm. Our club room is at Ightenleigh Social Club, Padiham, Burnley, BB12 6SZ.
